Sugar Factory IEM No Approval
The IEM No. (Industrial Entrepreneur Memorandum Number) for a Sugar Factory is a unique acknowledgment issued by the Government of India when a sugar factory project is registered under the IEM system. Filing an IEM is mandatory before establishing a sugar factory, even though the sugar industry is de-licensed. The IEM No. confirms that the project details—such as location, capacity, investment, and promoters—have been officially recorded. It is not a licence to operate; the factory can only commence production after obtaining all statutory approvals, including state clearances, distance certificates, environmental clearances, and other regulatory compliances.
- Why IEM Filing is Required for Sugar Factories : Sugar industry is de-licensed, but IEM filing is mandatory before establishing a new factory.
